Why Bother to Barter?
Let's face it, in this day and age, disposable income has become a lot less for very many of us. The average American is experiencing much more financial stress than ever before. This is the direct result of Corporate Greed, inflation, and excessive consumerism. In short, people are running out of spending money and are even struggling to pay their bills. With cash strapped as tightly as it is, very many business owners are getting back to the roots: bartering goods and services in lieu of actual currency.
The Beauty of Bartering
Basically, bartering can be described as the exchange of goods and/or services without the use of money. Bartering dates back to early human civilizations, hence the mention of getting “back to the basics.” Think about it, in the earliest civilizations, money did not yet exist. In places such as ancient Greece and Rome, for example, bartering became more widespread as people were looking to trade goods such as livestock, olive oil, wine, weapons, etc. Today, bartering is becoming more modernized by multiple businesses and entrepreneurs. As the use of social media increases exponentially, it allows for businesses to connect more closely with their consumers, now more than ever before. That being said, if the consumer offers a product or service as well, it may be in the interest of both parties to trade or barter, making cash currency somewhat of a “middleman,” which can potentially be avoided. Is Life of the Muse a barter friendly business? YES! As an independent designer and creator, it is understood that most people do not have the disposable capital that they used to. So, in the best interest of myself and my clients, I do accept and welcome Barter Proposals. If you offer a product or service that could be beneficial to the Muse, feel free to use the “Contact Us” form to inquire whether or not your product/service qualifies for a barter transaction. Don’t be shy! You never know what could happen until you ask or try.
